Concept explainers
To explain:
About amniotic fluid.
Introduction:
The amniotic fluid is the protective liquid of a gravid amniotic capsule. This fluid is used as a covering for the developing fetus but also to promote the interchange of nutrients, water, and biochemical materials between both the mother and fetus.
Explanation of Solution
The amniotic fluid is normally water from your womb during the early weeks of pregnancy. A baby's semen makes more of the fluid after around 20 weeks of birth. Amniotic fluid comprises nutrients, hormones that are body-made chemicals and antibodies which are the body cells that prevent infections.
Thus, amniotic fluid plays an important role during pregnancy.
