Concept explainers
Does the collision of two galaxies involve the collisions of many, many stars?
Whether the stars were collide when two galaxies collide with each other.
Answer to Problem 5TE
Collision of the galaxies does not result in the collision of stars.
Explanation of Solution
The collision of two galaxies is because of the gravitational effect between them, which tends to merge them. Galaxies have large gaseous and dust clouds with various planets in it, which are organized in a way.
The collision of the galaxy does not turn up in the collision of stars. When two galaxies merged into one, the larger clouds collide with each other. As two galaxies are rich in gas, the merge of the two galaxies will result in the formation of stars.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the collision of galaxies does not result in the collision of stars.
