The way through which Mendel knows that each of his pea plants carried two alleles encoding a characteristic.

Introduction:

Gregor Johann Mendel is called “father of Genetics”. He demonstrated the transmission of characters from generation to generation. The pea plant (Pisum sativum) was his first choice to work for “genetic investigations”. This plant grows rapidly than others, and have the ability to “complete its entire generation” in a “single growing season”.
