Introduction:

“Variant form of a given gene” is termed as an allele.  Different alleles can give in different observable phenotypic traits. Certain genes contain a variety of different forms located at the same position or termed as “locus” on a chromosome”.

The difference between genotype and phenotype.

Introduction:

Genotype of an organism can be expressed by each pair of alleles. Genotype can be either “homozygous” (if two identical alleles are present at a particular locus) or “heterozygous” (if the two alleles differ). Phenotype expressed by alleles is the “outer appearance of any organism”.
