The alpha rays are also called as alpha particle or alpha radiations. It consist of two proton ( p ) and two neutron ( n ) combined together to form a helium nucleus.

Gamma Rays (or gamma radiations) is a type of EM waves and its penetrating power is very high as compared to other radiations. It arises from radioactive decay of atomic nucleus. Gamma rays have smallest wavelength.

The damage caused by radiation emitted by the activity depends upon the amount of energy falling on the tissues.

The alpha particles are more dangerous as compared to gamma rays because of large mass and high value of charge than other radiations.
