Because seawater does not freeze easily, sea ice never gets very thick. So from where do large icebergs originates?
The source from where large icebergs originates.
Answer to Problem 9TE
The large icebergs originate due to the breaking of the glacier, a glacier forms from the freezing of the freshwater and accumulation of snow in a large amount.
Explanation of Solution
The freezing of seawater is not easy, so due to this, the formation of the large icebergs from the seawater is not possible. But the freezing of freshwater can produce glacier, or the formation of the glacier takes place when the accumulation of snow in a large amount occurs near the sea.
When the chunk of ice breaks from the glacier, it gets converted into large icebergs and mixed with the seawater. Thus, large icebergs originate from the glacier produced by snow accumulation and freezing of freshwater.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the large icebergs originate due to the breaking of the glacier, a glacier forms from the freezing of the freshwater and accumulation of snow in a large amount.
