Introduction:

Some plants live in close association with the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal species. The fungus resides in the roots of plants. The plants provide shelter to fungus and fungal partner draws the nutrients from the soil, which is supplied to the plants. Some plants are so much dependent on the mycorrhizal symbiont that they die in their absence.
