Consumer-prey interactions can be of two types: predation and parasitism. A predator is an animal that depends on prey. The predator kills and eats other animals, termed as prey. Predator animals feeds prey animals and this is called predation. However, in parasitism, the host is affected through the presence of parasites, but the parasite gets benefitted from host.
