Introduction: Sponges are multicellular organisms. They are known as the simplest organisms because they lack nerves, muscles, internal organs, and tissues. Sponges have irregular body shapes and thus have no symmetry. Their appearance does not match with most of the animals.

Explanation of Solution

Sponges use their body organs to obtain food. It feeds livestock with some special feeding system. They do not have a digestive system but they have specialized cells that help them in obtaining food from the water. The cells strain food from water by filtering it. They do not use their mouth to obtain food. Instead of a mouth, they use the small pores in their outer walls. The specialized cells filter food into the body and the water gets removed from the body with the help of osculum.

Thus, in this way sponges use their body structure to obtain food.
