Introduction: Tuning a piano is very essential to produce the melodious sound. This can be done easily by understanding the concept of beat pattern generated in a string.
When a Piano is to be tuned by a tuner then the tuner expects that it should not generate any beats because only then it will have resonating frequencies. Therefore, the tuner must tight the strings further so that the beats will disappear.
Conclusion: In order to have a perfectly tuned piano there should be no beats in the piano. Thus the tuner must tighten the strings further.
