MajorNet Systems is a start-up company that makes connectors for high-speed Internet connections The company has budgeted variable costs of $145 for each connector and fixed costs of $7,500 per month. MajorNefs static budget predicted production and sales of 100 connectors in August, but the company actually produced and sold only 84 connectors at a total cost of $21,000.

Your company has received an order for 20 units of aproduct. Th e labor cost to produce the item is $9.50 per hour. Th esetup cost for the item is $60 and material costs are $25 per unit. Th e item is sold for $92. Th e learning rate is 80 percent. Overheadis assessed at a rate of 55 percent of unit labor cost.(a) Determine the average unit cost for the 20 units if the fi rstunit takes four hours.(b) Determine the minimum number of units that need to bemade before the selling price meets or exceeds the averageunit cost.
I have the following information: direct materials $250 and total manufacturing cost $700.  Overhead applied to jobs at a rate of 200% of direct labor cost.  This is for Chapter 2 job costing in managerial accounting.  I am supposed to figure out conversion cost, direct labor cost, and manufacturing overhead.    I know the formula for conversion cost= direct labor + manufacturing OH Prime cost= direct labor + direct materials How do I figure out direct labor cost with the given information?  The learning objective states calcualte predetermined overhead rate, but I do not have estimated manufacturing cost and estimated labor.  Can you please help? Thanks, Erica Gordon
The following scenario relates to 5 questions. Bear Co has developed a new model of television. The estimated labour time for the first unit is 12 hours but a learning curve of 75% is expected to apply for the first eight units produced Note: The learning index for a 75% learning curve is-0-415. Overhead production costs must be estimated based on a previous model, the Leonardo, that was made by Bear Co. Production quantities and total overhead costs for the last four months of production of the Leonardo were as follows: Month Output Total overhead cost (units) $ September 1,800 278,200 October 2,000 310,000 November 1,700 252,900 December 1,000 200,000 The first phase of production has now been completed for the new television. The first unit actually took 12-5 hours to make and the total time for the first eight units was 34-3 hours, at which point the learning effect came to an end. What is the actual learning rate, and did the labour force learn more quickly or less quickly than…
