Introduction:

Fats and oils are organic compounds made up of hydrogen, carbon and oxygen atoms.

A group of organic compounds called lipids comprises of fats and oils. Lipids are also made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms like carbohydrates but the proportions of the three atoms are different in both compounds. Lipids found in animals are called fats and lipids found in plants are called oils.

Conclusion:

Fats and oils are included in the lipid group of organic compounds.
