Characteristics of an application:

• Today, the high traffic web applications are being developed that serve millions of concurrent users, and are more data-intensive, therefore, there is a need to scale the application by increasing its efficiency to handle a greater number of user requests.
• The following characteristics of an application make it easy to scale the application by using a key-value store:
• 1. ○ Speed up read or write operations.
  2. ○ Provides inbuilt security.
  3. ○ Handles unstructured data very well.
  4. ○ Handles complex database schema and bad indexing.
  5. ○ Store data that can be accessed more efficiently by another application.
