The stomach is involved in digestion of food in human beings. The stomach’s muscularis externa and mucosa are modified, such that they can perform their functions in a better manner. There are four types of cells in the stomach, which are mucous neck cells, parietal cells, chief cells, and diffuse neuroendocrine system cells.
