Concept Introduction:
Formula mass can be calculated by using the number of moles of base which has reacted with acid to neutralize it. After neutralization process, the remaining number of moles of acid can be calculated.
The ratio between amount of organic acid dissolved in the solution and the remaining number of moles of acid, will give the formula mass of the organic acid.
