Concept introduction:
Echinoderms are the invertebrate chordates included under the largest clade characterized by bilateral symmetry and three germ layers. Echinoderms are deuterostomes that means anus develops from the first opening in the embryo at gastrulation. Echinoderms have spiny skin and water vascular system, which distinct them from other animals. Sea star and starfish are examples of echinoderms.
