Chapter 21, Problem 18TYR
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
In nature, the host cell starts producing antibodies when it encounters an antigen, which is pathogenic to the host cells. The antigen is a substance that is capable of inducing an immune system to produce antibody against that particular antigen. Antigens include microbes that are capable of producing serious illness to mankind. Immunoglobulin is also known as antibody, which is a Y shaped protein produced by the plasma cells. The antibodies are used by the immune system to neutralize an antigen, such as viruses and bacteria.
