Business System ERD
Create an ERD based on the Crow’s Foot model, using the following requirements:
An INVOICE is written by a SALESREP. Each sales representative can write many invoices, but each invoice is written by a single sales representative.
The INVOICE is written for a single CUSTOMER. However, each customer can have many invoices.
An INVOICE can include many detail lines (INVOICE_ITEM), each of which describes one product bought by the customer.
The product information is stored in a PRODUCT entity.
The product’s vendor information is found in a VENDOR entity.
You do NOT need to put any fields/attributes into this ERD. Just draw the entities as empty boxes with relationships between them.
MAKE ERD
A large bank operates several divisions. Information Technology (IT) is operated as one of these divisions. Within the IT division are many departments (have ID, NAME) that are managed by one manager, and all IT employees (HAAVING ID, NAME (composit), SALARY(derived), DESIGNATION, Number, address (composite) age(derived)) belong to one of these departments.
The IT division assigns its employees to one or more ongoing projects (HAVE ID, NAME, manager ID, Tasks, completion date etc.) in the bank. A project may be planned, but not have any employees assigned to it for several months. Each project will have a single employee assigned who acts as a project leader. Draw ERD also specify cardinalities between entities.

Ebony and Ivory, a piano manufacturer, wants to keep track of all the pianos it makes. Each piano has an identifying serial number and a manufacturing completion date. Each instrument represents exactly one piano model. Each piano model has an identification number and a name. Over time, the company often manufactures thousands of pianos of a certain model, and the model design is specified before any single piano exists. Ebony and Ivory employs piano technicians who are responsible for inspecting the instruments before they are shipped to the customers. Each piano is inspected by at least one technician (identified by their employee number). Each technician has a set one or more specialties. Some technicians may not be responsible for inspection jobs. For each separate inspection, the company needs to record its date and a quality evaluation grade. The piano technicians have a hierarchy of reporting relationships: some of them have…

The prices of lumber and other building materials are constantly changing. When a customer inquires about the price on prefinished wood flooring, sales representatives consult a manual price sheet and then call the supplier for the most recent price. The supplier in turn uses a manual price sheet, which has been updated each day. Often, the supplier must call back Don’s sales reps because the company does not have the newest pricing information immediately on hand. Assess the business impact of this situation, describe how this process could be improved with information technology, and identify the decisions that would have to be made to implement a solution.arrow_forward
