Chlorine dioxide because of its uniqueness is used as bleaching and a disinfectant. From long time, to disinfect the water of swimming pools chlorine compounds are used but it was found to be corrosive and harmful in nature. Various problems have been reported regarding usage of chlorine disinfectants like skin darkening.
