Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Heartbeat rate is fully controlled by the autonomic nervous system by its sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Sympathetic nervous system increases the heartbeat rate, and parasympathetic system decreases the heartbeat rate. Signals to the cardiac centers in brain are sent by the receptors present in the heart at aortic valves and other centers. These receptors are of chemoreceptors, baroreceptors, and proprioceptors.
