Interpretation:
The functions of phospholipids and glycolipids in the body are to be explained.
Concept introduction:
The basic structure of phospholipids is similar to that of triglyceridesexcept for that one fatty acid molecule is replaced by a phosphate group.
A phospholipid is both polar and non-polar in nature.
The glycolipids are also similar in structure to that of phospholipids. The nonpolarsection consists of a fatty acid chain and a hydrocarbon chain. The sugar molecule makes up for the polar section.
