The features of virus.
Introduction:
In the living world, we see a large number of microorganisms, animals and plants. These organisms possess some unique characteristics in terms of morphology and behavior that distinguishes them from the others.
Explanation of Solution
Viruses are minute particles that are made up of only their genetic material which may be DNA or RNA and a protein coat. Viruses are mostly pathogenic. They are not free living, meaning they require the support of a host for their survival and nutrition.
Virus may be of different shapes. Based on shape, there are 4 types of virus.
- Helical (like Tobacco Mosaic Virus)
- Polyhedral (like Adenovirus)
- Spherical (like Influenza Virus)
- Complex (like Bacteriophage)
