Concept Introduction:
The four nitrogen bases found in DNA are adenine, guanine, cytosine and thymine. Among these, adenine and guanine have a purine structure due to which they are called purine bases, whereas cytosine and thymine have pyrimidine skeleton due to which they are called pyrimidine bases.
