To determine:

The meaning of the term gustation

Introduction:

The ability to taste anything is called as gustation. The sensory receptor present in the mouth is the receptors of the dissolved chemical stimulus. The gustatory epithelial cells are found in the taste buds of the tongue. The stimulation produced by the chemicals leads to the generation of action potential that reaches the gustatory cortex where the information is interpreted.
