Concept introduction:

The seed plants include two major categories of plants called the angiosperms and the gymnosperms. Angiosperms are the flower bearing plants that have covered seeds. Gymnosperms do not bear flowers and have naked seeds. The seeds are an important medium for the reproduction in plants. The root, stem and leaves are well developed in a seed plant.

An alga is a non flowering aquatic plant that contains chlorophyll. They do not have a root, shoot and leave system. They are plant like organism living in water that do not bear seeds.
