A vision development condition in which an eye does not accomplish normal visual acuity or dimness of vision is known as amblyopia. Amblyopia, also termed as lazy eye, starts during infancy and childhood. In this condition, one eye usually gets affected. Rarely, both eyes affected with visual acuity. Early diagnosis of the lazy eye may prevent reduced vision in the affected individual. If untreated, lazy eye may lead to severe visual disability. Strabismus (misalignment of the two eyes) is the common cause of amblyopia. There is three types of amblyopia, namely strabismic amblyopia, refractive amblyopia, and deprivation amblyopia.
