Summary Introduction

To determine:

The effect of mutation occurred in E. coli that detected the gene for an adhesion, on the ability of E. coli to cause urinary tract infection.

Introduction:

When bacteria enter into the urinary tract through the urethra it causes urinary tract infection (UTI). 85 % of the UTI cases are caused by the bacterium E. coli. The bacterium can cause infection in the urinary tract by growing in it. Adhesin is a protein that helps bacteria to adhesion on other surfaces. The immune system to protecting a host’s body from infection by generating B lymphocytes.
