A parking lot is 275 ft by 200 ft (Figure 14-23). A trade size 4 conduit has been buried 2 ft beneath the concrete. The conduit runs at an angle from one corner of the parking lot to the other. Two pull boxes have been placed in the conduit run. The pull boxes are equally spaced along the length of conduit. Your job is to pull conductors through the conduit from one end of the run to the other.
FIGURE 14-23 Determining length.
Allowing 12 ft of extra conductor, what is the length of each conductor? The conductors are not to be spliced.
How much cable will be required to pull these conductors through the conduit, allowing an extra 5 ft at one end that is to be connected to the pulling device and 3 ft extra that is to be used to connect the conductors to the cable?

What are three main reasons to install grounds and bonds on an isolated circuit before work is started? When using protective grounds, does the application of the grounding principle control current or voltage? Does all the current in a grounded conductor take the easiest path to earth? Electricity flows from the power plant Through wires to the step-up transformer. The transformer raises the voltage so it can travel long distances - it is raised as high as 756,000 volts. Electricity is generated in the power plant by hydroelectric, nuclear, wind or geothermal energy. The electric current then runs through the power lines to the substation transformer where voltage is lowered to between 2000 and 13000 volts. The turbine spins a huge magnet inside a copper wire. Heat energy converts to mechanical energy which then converts to electrical energy in the generator. From there, electricity comes into your home through a service box, where your heter IS located to electrical consumption. measure your Wires Taice electricity around your home, powering your lights and all your other electrical appliances. Electricity is then taken through the lines to a pole transformer or transformer box if underground then the voltage is lowered again to 120 or 220…arrow_forward
