Introduction:

The nervous system is a complex network of nerve cells. Neurons are the basic unit of the nervous system. Some chemical signals are secreted by neurons that have a long-term effect on the synapses. These chemical signals are known as neuromodulators. The neuromodulators modulate or adjust the neuron group activity in a number of ways: presynaptic neuron increasing the neurotransmitter release; reuptake of the rate of neurotransmitter is altered etc.
