Concept introduction:
As a constitutional part of membrane-transfer mechanisms, a group of biological membrane proteins that permit the passive movement of water, ions, or other solutes to move through the membrane down to their electric concentration is known as channel. Transporter is a carrier membrane protein that is included in the transportation of ions, small molecules, or macromolecules across the biological membrane. A channel is a pathway that can open simultaneously at the same time to the extracellular and intracellular environments, but a carrier either opens to the inside or to the outside.
