Question
Chapter 1.1, Problem 1COQ
Summary Introduction
To explain:
The way in which Hopi culture contributed to the high incidence of albinism among members of the Hopi tribe.
Introduction:
Albinism is a disease caused due to defect in the enzyme required for the production of melanin (pigment that darkens the hair, eye and skin). People with such disease cannot produce this pigment resulting in white hair, no pigment in the iris of their eye and light skin. In humans, albinism is caused by mutation in genes that control the production and storage of the pigment melanin.
