Introduction:
Cardiac muscle is limited to the heart wall and the cardiac muscle cells are branched, striated and have a single nucleus. It is under involuntary control. Its cells are often called cardiocytes. Intercalated discs are unique structures found in heart tissue, which helps in signal transmission between cardiocytes.
