Two types of computer memory

RAM:

• RAM stands for random access memory.
• RAM is a device used for storage purpose.
• The data stored in the memory can be accessed randomly. It allows fast access.
  • It is a temporary memory.
• RAM permits the computer to read data quickly to run applications.
• It permits reading and writing.
• RAM is a volatile memory, that is, its contents are vanished once the device is turned off.
• The main types of RAM are:
  • SRAM (static random access memory)
  • DRAM (dynamic access memory)
