Chapter 1, Problem 2P

Modify the C++ program you entered in Practice Program 1. Change the program so that it first writes the word Hello to the screen and then goes on to do the same things that the program in Display 1.8 does. You will only have to add one line to the program to make this happen. Recompile the changed program and run it. Then change the program even more. Add one more line that will make the program write the word Good-bye to the screen at the end of the program. Be certain to add the symbols \n to the last output statement so that it reads as follows:

  cout << “Good-bye\n”;

(Some systems require that final \n, and your system may be one of them.) Recompile and run the changed program.

C++ coding In order to paint a wall that has a number of windows, we want to know its area. Each window has a size of 2 ft by 3 ft. Write a program that reads the width and height of the wall and the number of windows, using the prompts Wall width: Wall height: Number of windows: Then print the area with two digits after the decimal point: Area: ...
Use C++ Programming language. Amanda and Tyler opened a business that specializes in shipping liquids, such as milk, juice, and water, in cylindrical containers. The shipping charges depend on the amount of the liquid in the container. (For simplicity, you may assume that the container is filled to the top.) They also provide the option to paint the outside of the container for a reasonable amount. Write a program that does the following: Prompts the user to input the dimensions (in feet) of the container (radius of the base and the height). Prompts the user to input the shipping cost per liter. Prompts the user to input the paint cost per square foot. (Assume that the entire container including the top and bottom needs to be painted.) Separately outputs the shipping cost and the cost of painting. Your program must use the class cylinderType (designed in Programming Exercise 3) to store the radius of the base and the height of the container. (Note that 1 cubic feet = 28.32 liters or…
In this assignment you will write a program that shows the valid moves of chess pieces. Your program will draw a board with 64 squares using the traditional layout, next ask the user to choose a move, and then, depending on the user's choice, redraw the board with the selected chess piece and its valid moves. Please see the examples of valid moves of chess pieces and the traditional chess board layout below:
