The most valuable and important research designs in advanced cross-cultural research are validity and demographics. Validity can be a construct, internal, or external. “Construct validity typically refers to the degree to which a variable has been operationally defined so that it captures the essence of a hypothetical construct under study. ”(Keith, 2019, p. 109-114). “Internal validity reflects the confidence with which we can draw cause and effect conclusions from our research results.” (Keith, 2019 p. 109-114). “External validity is the degree to which research results can be generalized beyond one's sample.” (Keith, 2019 p. 109-114). Demographics are valuable and important because demographics can help categorize and establish correct cultural information. There are advantages and disadvantages to having multi demographical areas involved in studies. In small demographic studies, cultures are all likely the same or maybe only one or two which makes it easier to go back and forth between but a disadvantage is not having more cultural diversity. For larger demographical studies there are more cultures to go between creating cultural diversity but also the disadvantage of not being familiar with all of the cultures.
