Describe the two general types of protein microarrays. What are
their possible applications?

Expert Solution
Step 1

A protein microarray is also known as the protein chip, is the high throughput method that is used to trace the activities and interaction of the proteins as well as for the determination of their function. A large number of proteins can be traced in parallel. These microarrays are economical, automated, highly sensitive and rapid as well they consume very small quantities of reagents and samples. The high throughput technology is based on technology developed for the DNA microarray.
