Q1) The lysogenic cycle of a virus is a method of replication in which the viral genetic material, called the provirus, is integrated into the host cell's genome. The virus remains in this dormant state until it is activated by some trigger, such as stress or damage to the host cell, at which point it enters the lytic cycle. The lytic cycle, in contrast, is a method of replication in which the virus infects a host cell and takes over its metabolic machinery, causing the cell to produce new viruses. The infected cell eventually lyses, or bursts, releasing the new viruses to infect other cells.

Q2) A vaccine is a preparation of weakened or dead microorganisms, or a part of the microorganism, that is introduced into the body to stimulate the immune system to recognize and fight off the real pathogen if it infects the body in the future. An emerging virus is a newly identified or newly evolved virus that poses a threat to human health, while a pandemic is a global outbreak of a disease that occurs over a wide geographic area and affects an exceptionally high proportion of the population. Examples of human diseases caused by viruses include the common cold, flu, hepatitis, AIDS, and some types of cancers such as human papillomavirus (HPV) infections.
