The causes of World War II are the Great Depression, the Treaty of Versailles, the Japanese Expansion, fascism, appeasement, and hitler and the nazi party.

There are many stories of many tragedies, loses, and sadness that was in and followed World War II. To start, there were many ways the war impacted America and it changed American home life. There were many people who gave their lives to the war from America and other countries. A cause of the war was the stock market crashed. This led to very dark times for America. As you can see, many people all over the world suffered from this disagreement between countries.

Germany also had been blamed for starting WW1 and this caused Germans to become enraged because they had many consequences from the treaty. Most Germans thought that the Treaty of Versailles is unfair and evil and they found it to be a humiliation. They did accept the responsibility but they did not really have a choice. World War II happened because of a multitude of things because of the way they dealt with Germany. The start of the war had many things contributing to it. On September 1st 1939, Hitler began World War II by invading Poland and on September 3rd, Britain and France declared war on Germany. America wasn’t in the involved in the war until December 7th, 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.

World War II plays a very important part in the history of the world. It still has effects that we deal with today. So, what events could have possibly started such a monumental world war? Well, the events are: World War I, Great Depression, expansion of imperialism, Versailles Treaty, and the rise of Germany. As the title of the book implies, The United States left the war with a great optimistic view of the these “glorious” five years. The United States as a population had been tricked into believing in the, at times, fabricated conditions of its history that had been presented to people as some beautiful stories and myths where nations are viewed as being first-rate in union and morality. These so-called myths were created out of several factors. Because of Hollywood, the vast amounts of government propaganda, and far-reaching economic prosperity, Americans were, for the most part, hidden from the real truth of The Second World War. In this period of time, even, the generation of the Second World War is seen as being top-notch in morality and unity. There was a popular misconception held that there were no problems in terms of ethnicity or gender; it seemed that families were living contented lives and children excelled in school and read all kinds of books (115).

On December 7, 1941, with Japanese attack on Perl Harbor, all debate over avoiding war and the policy of American isolationism was gone. It was the beginning of a great war that brought death, devastation and finally the victory and power to United States. World War I left Germany with many shortfalls, thus leaving them in the hands of the Treaty of Versailles. Rather unfair of a Treaty, this left Germany once again looking for another way out. A country resented by many had no other choice but to feel optimistic toward Adolph Hitlers empty promises… making it substantially simple for him to gain power so quick.
