World War II: A Shape In History

I believe that World War II was a continuation of World War I because of some not resolved issues. Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles by expanding the military and invading Poland. One of the events that led to the beginning of World War 1 was: Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism; which stands for MAIN. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia but they then joined up with Russia. After, Germany declared war on Russia which caused the war to expand. World War I ended in 1918 when Germany surrendered. It also had a great impact on European countries after it ended.

World War II-- also known as The Holocaust / The Genocide -- was the world 's second 'Great War '. World War II was much more larger in scale and more longer in duration. World War I had only lasted for four years, while World War II had lasted for six years. I find it quite interesting that contrary to popular belief; the United States did not enter World War II until 2 years after the genesis of the conflict. It was only in 1941, when the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor that the United States had entered the war. World War II started in 1939 due to Germany performing an unprovoked attack on Poland. Surprisingly, only a few months later after Germany invaded Poland; the whole European continent was at war. In 1939, the United States was not ready to go to war. In the early 20th century, the United States Army only ranked 39th in the world. Many Americans believed that the United States could not handle another global conflict right after the Great Depression. Although the United States was not 'officially ' part of the war at that time, that did not stop the United States from becoming 'unofficially ' involved.

World War II was a historical event for America. It helped changed and shaped the world into what it is today. Some good, some bad. Things I am going to talk about today are the reasons why World War II happened in the first place. There are many reasons but the few I chose are anger over the Versailles Treaty, The Great Depression, and the goals of Hitler and the Nazi Party. I will explain in great detail how all of these caused World War II.

The Tenth’s triumphs in Italy were demonstrative of the value of specialized forces. Their success both was very influential in the events of World War II and in proving the value of specialized forces. Once the government saw how effective the focused training of this division was, they realized that a new era had begun. The Tenth Mountain Division started the period of special forces.

After World War I legacy the Great Depression brought isolationism. The best work produced by President Roosevelt was the Four Freedoms; freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. President Roosevelt was the leader of the Allies, he used this statement as part of his Allies aim. The Soviet Union joined the Allies after being invaded by Germany. Millions of art were sold and reprinted as it publicizes the Four Freedom in 1943. In 1940s after tension between the United States and Japan over East Asia, on December 7, 1941 Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. There was no warning of this attack happening as a result United States declared war on Japan. The Good neighbors policy was, brought into place by President Roosevelt and Hoover in 1930s. This was a policy that would help the relationship between Latin American countries and the Unites States. The good neighbors policy would not only help the Latin countries but also the United States with trade and military.

America was involved during World War Two which was considered the greatest war of its existence. It took a whole nation and a significant amount of manpower to win the war. The United States’ involvement greatly changed the tide of world history by conquering the axis powers. World War Two was the result of Hitler’s Nazi Party comes to power, invading most of Europe and the United States freeing Europe. World War Two has made the world a better place to live because it eliminated an evil empire that would have destroyed the world.

“One death is a tragedy, one million is a statistic.”- These words were spoken by Joseph Stalin after the largest and bloodiest battle in human history, Stalingrad. The eastern front of World War II was one the bloodiest single war of all time. Once the Germans invaded the USSR they did not know they had unleashed the Soviet storm. During Russia’s great patriotic war, the battles of the eastern front led to the downfall of the German Reich.

World War II, or the Second World War, was one of the biggest wars because it was international. It lasted from 1939 to 1945. It involved almost every major power in the world, forming two military alliances called the Allies and the Axis. It was the most well-known war in history, and it involved more than 100 million people, from more than 30 different countries! 50 to 85 million victims were killed or severely injured due to the use of air power to bomb enemy cities and countries. All of these fatal contributions made World War II one of the deadliest conflicts in human history.

Most people have had a problem with someone, some might refer to it like a war. War by definition is generally characterized by extreme aggression, destruction, and mortality. However, for forty-four years a war that would scare millions around the world occurred. This war was not all brutality, it was arguments that would change the world forever. This war was known as the Cold War.

World War II, was the most widespread war in history, and was one of the most brutal events in modern human history. The global war lasted from 1939-1945 though was definitely a result of past event which occurred years earlier. A huge majority of the world was involved, these essentially formed into two sides; the Allies and the Axis. The Allies involved New Zealand, U.S.A, U.K, Soviet Union, China, France, Australia (as well as more) and the Axis, primarily involved, Germany, Italy and Japan. There were also numerous countries who maintained their neutrality throughout the Second World War, these included, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.

It had a significant impact on the development of the entire world, and resulted in the revision of many socio-political doctrines, policies, and principles of international relations.

A clash of beliefs. One minute a team fighting together during World War II, the next, enemies threatening to wipe one another off the planet. This is what the Cold War could have led to. With resentment and tension high, even back before the start of World War II, both sides had done everything short of a nuclear war. The United States had long been concerned about the idea of communism and Russian leader, Joseph Stalin. Even during their time as allies, one would never trust the other. This was especially true once Stalin had gotten word of a weapon the United States was planning to use on Japan. This, and the fear of the Soviets capabilities, led to multiple tactical strategies by the United States. The devastation left by the Great War (aka World War 1) had greatly destabilized Europe, and in many aspects World War II grew out of issues left unresolved by the conflicts of WW1. In particular, political and economic instability in Germany left by the harsh punishments and terms imposed by the Versailles Treaty, fueled the rise to power of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party.

Introduction- World War 1 was the first Great War on our time. World War 1 started on the 28th of July 1914 and ended on the 11th of November, 1918. This means that this war lasted for over four years. Over 1500 days of these soldiers’ lives, they spend fighting. There were over 18 million people who were killed or injured during World War One. Countries involved in WW1 are listed as when they first declared war. Serbia (July 1914), Russia, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Montenegro, Japan (all August 1914), Italy (May 1915), Portugal (March 1916), Romania (August 1916), United States, Cuba, Panama (all in April 1917), Greece, Siam (both in July 1917)Liberia, China (both August 1917), Haiti (September 1917) Brazil (October 1917), Guatemala (April 1918) and Nicaragua and Costa Rica both joined in (May 1918). There are many factors to what causes this war, and many opinions where the blame should lie.

Three percent of the world was killed during the 1940s in the deadliest military conflict in history, World War II, since the first World War was unable to prevent it. Referred to as the war to end all wars by the United States President Woodrow Wilson in one of his speeches in 1914, the first World War (1914-1918) resulted in the deaths of seventeen million people and is considered one of the most deadly conflicts in human history. Among the reasons for the Great War deadliness were the changing military tactics and new technology used such as trench warfare, tanks and the use of the submarine.
