As an American, you are granted special freedoms that many others do not have, but do you know why you are able to have those freedoms? Is it the politicians? No, it is the men and women in uniform fighting overseas. As the backbone of our military, the infantryman plays a valuable role in the success of our armed forces. Many people know of our nation’s heroes. Unfortunately, many do not know what they do, the strength they need to do it, or how they undertook the task of joining the United State’s infantry. First of all, what do they even do? I have come to find out that there is a lot more to a soldier than “point and shoot”. Most of what they do is not even combat related. For example, one of the important tasks they are trained to do is protect the data that they collect. This includes knowing how to safely transport it from point A to point B, without the information being damaged or compromised. An infantryman also has to know how to operate and maintain the communication devices that they are are issued. If they do not sufficiently know how to use the equipment they are given, they are not only running the risk of themselves being harmed, but the others around them. Ever wondered how they keep themselves protected in the open areas? They are trained for that too. They are taught how to dig foxholes, build bunkers, set up camouflage, and build other types of fortifications. Without the knowledge to do so, they would be susceptible to enemy fire, and
If you were asked to walk 18 miles outside of Philadelphia, in the winter time with disease and death all around , would you say yes? To say yes meant you were committing to a team, to fight , and win the war. There would be hard times but to win the war at the end would be a big success. George Washington commanded his army to go on this journey. To say no to this you would be safe, but you would not gain wisdom and strength. I would want to leave with the soldiers because I could help the sick and injured while being a part of a team to fight for the country's rights.
There are a lot of graduates fresh out of high schools that make the decision to use the military. There are some people that join the military because that is a fast and easy choice for them. The military gives everyone a wide variety of options. College for instance, the military allows you to serve your country and still have time to attend college and get a degree if you choose to do that. People that choose to join the military get the option to go to college anytime they feel during their military career. The military pays for part or all the tuition. The military has four different branches, Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines. Each branch offers different trades. Air Force for example, teaches people to fly, have mechanical skills,
When General John C. Frémont of Missouri and General David Hunter of South Carolina issued decrees that freed slaves in their military districts and allowed them to join the military, their higher-ups repealed their orders. Although, by the middle of 1862, the growing amount of former slaves and the shrinking number of volunteering whites, along with the progressively demanding faculty needs of the Union army convinced the government to start reassessing the ban on black
Ideal- The Marines Embody more of my personal views and ideals then the other branches of the armed services.
First, I would like to take the time to thank you for the opportunity to apply for a position in JSOC. It is a tremendous honor even to be considered. That said, I would like to explain why I feel that I am the best candidate for this position. I am the best candidate for the position is because of my experience and performance. I will take the next two paragraphs to explain each of these areas.
Since I was in eighth grade I have attended every SLTP conference that I could as possible. I love the atmosphere and the way I feel when I am here! SLTP has helped me grow into the person I am today. This out of the many reasons is why I would love to be a LT! Completing the highest level (TLC) this summer, I have done a lot of self reflection on how much I’ve changed since the first time I walked into Davis Hall. SLTP has challenged me to become the person I want to be and should be.
I am writing about the occupation known as Special Forces. I am very interested in this occupation because I love military careers, and I love the feeling of adventure. The reason i want to be a special forces team member, is because my papa fought in Vietnam in the U.S. Air Force but was sent back home when my Grammy was having my mom. My brother was in the U.S. Army when he was driving a humvee down a route when the humvee in front of him was blown up. I have wanted to be in the Military since i was about 6, I have always loved the military with a passion, but I don’t necessarily know why, I just feel its in my blood.
The United States Army is one of the main factors that allows America to be a free and democratic country. The Army defends, protects, and honors the United States of America. Ever since I was a young boy, I saw greatness in the United States Army and hoped to one day be a part of it. I always envisioned myself in a leadership position and when I decided to join the Army, I knew being an officer was for me. To me, being an officer in the U.S. Army is a career unlike any other. There are many opportunities as an officer in the Army to advance, further education, and grow as a person. The army allows you to switch your MOS and attend more training to further education or to change careers completely which is something
If for some reason, I could not attend any college I will pursue a career in the army as an assisting medical staff. A career in the army has always been a choice, so if I can't go to college to become an officer, I will go in as an active duty soldier. I want to dedicate my life to helping soldiers and kids in war-torn areas. I believe that we have a lot of public health workers, but we do not have enough in the armed forces, so if I have to work as public health, I choose the
Let me start by introducing you to what the Infantry is. The Infantry is where younger men go to become professional killers, in order to defend the constitution of the United States of America. It is the assembly line that takes your everyday kid and turns him into a weapon for the greater good. An Infantryman is trained to face combat on foot with only his fellow Soldiers and his rifle. He will fight the enemy face to face and is trained to never except defeat. To call yourself an infantryman you have to be willing to crawl and fight for every inch of land beneath your body. An
People can get involved on many different levels. The first way and easiest way to do that is by thanking their local military veterans for their services. A person who wants to make a different can try to get a governmental job and work there to gain knowledge and experience. After working there for a few years or until your thirty, you can run for Senate. Lastly if you want to get involved you can join the military.
Once I graduate on High School, I want to work as an logistics specialist on the Army branch and this is one of my long term goals that I have for a longest time. And when I complete my basic training and AIT, I might go to colleges or Universities where am I going to be stationed and for the rest of the time is that my job for Army get’s easier and get ranked up throughout the years and if ever I found a better work, then I’ll switch into it.
In life, there is one question we will all ask ourselves: “What is my purpose in life?” Some spend their whole lives searching. While others knew from the minute they were able to speak. I have a purpose,I believe my purpose is enlisting into the military. The Military is Powerful,Worthy, and Dedicated. Those are qualities I see within myself. During the last few years in high school, a variety of people struggle debating on what they'd like to do. A fighter, after my high school career, Is what I hope to be.
Most things in life come down to choices we have to make to progress or to better ourselves. Some people choose a career in clinics or run their own business or they join the army or the navy. But then it comes down to which one to choose from. If you were to join one of the two, would you join the Army or the Navy? People take into consideration of which would suit them better. Some choose which one is better just by the advertisements, or because a family member was in a military or navy branch of their own. Even a discussion with a recruiter could change your mind on which of the two you’re interested in joining. There’s plenty to take into consideration when it comes down to pursuing something in that type of field. The
The Career I want is to be in the military. The branch I choose is U.S Army. The reason I choose the Army is because the Special Forces they have are more appealing than the Marine Corp, or the Navy. The Army has; the Green Beret, the Rangers, and the one I want to join: 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment - Delta, this branch is more commonly known as Delta Force.
