Dear to whom it may concern, I would love to be in Honors English 2 (10th) and Honors World History (10th) as they are my two favorite subjects and I am the most passionate about them. I am currently in Humanities Academy as a freshman and my goal is to keep up the challenging classes because not only do I love to be challenged, but these subjects make me excited to learn. School comes very easy to me and I love to learn so much, so I know I can handle the tasks thrown my way during these courses. My personal goals I wish to achieve are to keep improving my strengths and making sure I am learning to my fullest abilities. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always said I want to be a famous author when I grow up. Now as I am getting older,
I am privileged to be one of the remarkable students qualified to join Eureka High School’s National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to applying to this organization as it provides influential help in our society. I would be privileged to join this distinguished association because it would provide me with opportunities to get involved in my community. As a hardworking, helpful, and friendly individual, I feel that I would make an auxiliary member to this organization. I demonstrate the qualities that are necessary to join this prestigious society, including leadership, character, scholarship, and service.
The Honors Program student embodies the virtues of independence, academic talent, intellectual curiosity, and persistence. In a brief essay, of approximately 500 words, please tell us how your reasons for admission to the Honors Program as well as your long and short terms academic goals speak to these four virtues. In doing so, you might consider the following questions:
Upon entering high school, I hoped that one day I would get the chance to apply for the National Honor Society. Now that the day is finally here, I believe it is such a high honor to be considered in the company of so many students whom I admire for their impeccable intellect.
Through National Honors Society, I have gained self-confidence, empathy and respect not only for teachers, but also for employees who diligently fulfill their responsibilities. Volunteering allows participants to perceive certain situations from different perspectives and therefore has allowed me to enhance my understanding of the plights teachers and young students may encounter on a daily basis. From grading a gigantic stack of assignments to engaging in mundane tasks such as tearing out multiple worksheets from workbooks, there are many events that occur outside of typical school hours that I would not have been able to witness and learn from had I not been an active member of National Honors Society. Likewise, now reflecting on all my volunteering at my local
I deserve to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I’ve earned it. Over my high school career, I have been through many challenges, but I learned to face them head on with a positive attitude knowing how good the outcome can be. I fit the qualifications to be a member and if I do not fulfill them to a certain level, I will work on how to reach them. Throughout my school education, I’ve always tried my best, even more so in high school. I hold myself up to a very high expectation, I know I can always do better than before. As for volunteering, I am always involved in my community as much as I can. As a child, I was involved in many programs and I continue to do service work with more benefits to my future and character
It is my goal is to learn something new every single day and constantly work towards personal improvement, even if it is just a little bit at a time. Throughout high school, I have maintained a high GPA and have challenged myself by taking honors and AP level classes. I am a member of the Trojan Marching Band, Race Against Discrimination (RAD)/Calling All Colors, the Environmental Action Council (EAC), and the Quidditch ‘Ville Cup tournament. I have been granted recognition in several areas, such as my writing, with which I was announced to be a semifinalist in the Library of Congress’s Letters About Literature contest. I have also received student of the month in both my freshman and sophomore year, and was also named the April Rotary Student of the Month in my sophomore year
Members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated have made everlasting effects on my life. Having mentors in this fraternity allowed me to see how every member feels responsible for improving the communities that they are from. They never hesitate to take the leadership roles that are needed to see change. I would like to become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha because it would allow us to share a brotherhood with great men, it will allow me to make valuable connections with other positive men around the world, and it will help me become the best version of myself. My desire to become a member of this fraternity began my freshmen year after I attended the first informational meeting. At this meeting I was able to speak with members and also learn from them. They each have strong leadership characteristics that allow them to serve on executive boards across campus and they all are high achieving students at Cornell.
The reason that I am interested in becoming a member of the National Honor Society is because the National Honor Society represents all of the values that I find most important in my education and life. National Honor Society requires academic excellence throughout high school. At the beginning of my Freshman year, I set a goal to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. I have worked diligently to achieve and maintain this grade point average while taking several advanced classes. So far, I have taken three classes for college credit and plan to take multiple more during my senior year. Through the course of my high school education, I have realized how important it is for an individual to develop and maintain these studious habits. All of the habits I have developed through becoming an excellent
I have decided to apply to UNCW Honors College to excel in my studies and help me further my education. Being a part of the Honors College will help me in the future, as I plan to attend medical school. This is my second time applying to the UNCW Honors College. I am now a sophomore who has worked very hard to obtain good grades and a good GPA. My hard work has paid off as I made the Dean’s list this year. An expectation I hope to gain when being a part of the Honors College, is the one on one learning experience. In high school, I was enrolled in all AP courses, which were very small classes. I hope to have the same advantage in the honors courses. I also want to be in a group of all similar academic standings. In high school, I was in National
There are several reasons why I decided to take Honors English, but I'll start with the one that is the most important to me, and that is college. College is something that is very important to me, and I want to be prepared for it. When I graduate I plan to attend a school out of state or preferably study abroad, possibly Germany. Unfortunately universities tend to be very expensive, especially if it is not in the state you live in. In order for me to be accepted into a top school I will need scholarships, good grades, and an impressive transcript. By taking this honors English course I hope to increase my chances at achieving my goals.
When becoming successful in life, I feel as if education is a factor that plays a huge role. It opens doors, which leads to a variety of available resources. I strongly believe that joining the honors college will lead me to the direction of becoming the Accountant I am destined to be. Having the ability to transform myself into a superior individual inside the classrooms has given me the confidence to challenge myself as I further my education. Advancing to the next level has always been a goal for me, and I am willing to put in the time and effort to earn my stripes.
I want to hold the position for Miss Freshman because I know that I’d be a great representative. Everyone is equal so I cannot say that I will be better than anyone, but I can certainly say that I will do my best. I am capable of taking on the challenges that lie ahead if I am voted for this position. I know if I were Miss Freshman of the class of 2020 I could make a couple of major changes in the students. I am a good leader, I’m very dependable, and I know how to set good examples. I am also a very reliable person and any task that I receive will be one of my main priorities. I am an approachable person and an awesome communicator and listener. My best effort will absolutely be put into this job. I am a very well organized and neat person. I am also an assertive person and I am without a doubt going to
I have been thinking about high school since was young. I thought it was so far away and now I am ready to graduate middle school and go to high school. This got me thinking about college. I realize that I need to find a high school that will help me succeed and reach my goal of going to college. I need a program that will help me find new things that will interest me. As an 8th grader getting ready to go into high school I was looking at applications and, I came across Lake View High School and I was intrigued. As I read on I was satisfied with what I read because I know that this program will help me succeed in high school and college. Knowing that, I really want to be a part of this school.
The reflection film I chose for the school in a multi-cultural society class is Higher Learning. In the film, which setting takes place at a university deals with multiple issues of academics, racism and women’s rights. As the film discusses the views of three different students as they try to find ways of dealing with their freedom of college life, they learn quickly in the beginning college life is not what it assumes be. As the movie learns about all three individuals it is concluded that each one is met with a traumatic experience that will affect their lives forever.
Clearly, everyone should want to be top of their class and should try and get an advanced diploma. I mean, if you don't want to graduate smart and want to be a dull and possibly homeless person later in life, then by all means go ahead and be my guest. I believe life needs to be fulfilled at all times even during school. What I mean is that I believe everyone should try their best and graduate top of their class. I want to because I want to change the world and want everyone to know my name. I would like to be one of the top students of my grade because it can help me get into a great college and succeed later in life.
