I believe in America one of the reasons that I believe in America is because I think America would give me a good education not only because you go to school for a certain amount of hours and because there are more opportunities but also economically because in other countries like for example Mexico parents have to pay for their child's food and education in general but, in America education is free taught and only if you want to assist a private school is the only time that lunch or school would cost you money. Some kids don't really appreciate education because they know that education is free but they probably don't know that people from other places would give anything to get their child to go to school. I also believe that America would
There was a time when America’s education system was top-notch according to the culture and society. With time, a myriad of things has changed, but unfortunately what has not evolved is the American education system. The country is still following a system which was not designed for the current global economic climate. Equality, as positive as it sounds is not as sufficient when it comes to education. The system treats students equally yet expect a similar culmination and outcome. Every child has his individuality and distinct abilities; one cannot judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree. Conversely, a few of the prominent reasons why the education system is failing are overcrowded schools, the rise of technology, and following the same old school hours.
America is a country of hope and freedom. People come to America for better opportunities for themselves and also their children. The America I believe in supports freedom, equality, and diversity. A lot of people do not realize how lucky they are to live in America because they have never seen or heard about what happens in other countries.
Advanced technology and forms of communication have changed the way we look at our nation. The current political climate and the cultural movement that is happening in our nation is going to go down in history as a revolution. A revolution where news headlines are instantaneously on our phone screens, and thanks to our advanced technology, a whole world of information is a few clicks away. However, despite these advancements in technology, the cultural change in America is often slowed down because there is a general lack of education. In America, education is the one, if not the biggest barriers that economically and institutionally suppress an overwhelming amount of the nation’s adults. Majority of adults in America do not have basic reading and writing skills yet education is still not a priority in America. There is a crucial need for education in America, now more than ever. In my opinion, the only reason for the current political climate in America is the lack of education that brings basic awareness. The solution to what we are witnessing as a nation is an education that makes individuals aware of the reality of our circumstances and allows them to see a perspective from multiple points of views. In this paper, I will present my argument on why education should be made a priority in America.
We live in a big world full of social inequality. Some people have access to necessary resources such as food, clothes and receive a high income that allows them to buy goods and services, not really necessary for their survival, but just to satisfy them. On the other side, we see people without money to by needs, such as food or clothes. These poor people doesn't have access to basic sanitation which makes them ill, and as they have no money, most of the time, they end up dying.
American education system does not compare to other counties. Students are not expected to meet high standards. American students do not possess the communication and computational skills they need today to succeed in college or in the working world. The American school system has no answer to fixing what a continuous problem we face in this country. Schools are overcrowded, lacks the tools and funding to educate our children. Meanwhile in other counties like China, Korea, and other parts of the world thrive on sending our productive individual into this world. I think if you want your child to have a better education either home school them to insure they are receiving the proper education or send them to a foreign country where sure to get an education, because the American school system does not compare to other counties.
A good education is considered a part of the American dream. Education is believed to be a privilege in life that opens doors for your future. American education now has become very competitive and expensive dream that will hopefully accommodate a higher paying wage. Education pulls many families out of poverty like conditions into a better socioeconomic status. The value of education will always be the cornerstone of the American dream.
A few months ago I watched a controversial documentary by Michael Moore called “Where to Invade Next.” It discussed some of the flaws in America’s policies. A part that particularly stood out for me was when Michael Moore traveled to Finland to discover why the country frequently scored the highest in standardized test scores. The success appeared to derive from higher quality teachers and a creative curriculum. However, the film was not very thorough when describing the American system and it didn’t show any concrete evidence. As a result, I still had questions about why education systems had success, and the lack thereof in the United States.
Education: America vs IndiaWhat is education? What is the educational system? And is education taught the same everywhere? Education according to Dictionary.com is “the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university.” Educational system according to edglossary.org is “generally refers to public schooling, not private schooling, and more commonly to kindergarten through high school programs.” However, education is taught differently everywhere. For example, high school education in America is vastly different then high school education in India. But they do have some similarities such as a diverse population of students in classes especially high schools and both countries value greatly education and academic success, therefore both countries put a great emphasize on education. Although High schools in America do display some similarities such as a diverse population ofstudents in classes and a great emphasize on education and academic success, they however differ dramatically in teaching methods, student aids, teacher evaluation system, and grading system. PersonallyI feel as if the American educational system is far more superior to the Indian education system. Emigrating from a foreign country to America is a very big change, especially educationally. I spent a decade of learning in India and when I came to America, I continued my education. When I came to the states I was a high school student, tenth grade and what is commonly
When I think of the gifts America have given to my generation, I think education. Education is highly needed and we, as American’s, take that for granted sometimes. In some countries education is not free and it is sometimes not even available. Kids in America complain about school when in other countries it is dream to go to school for children. In fact, 61 million school-age children are not in school today (GlobalCitizen.org).
During my undergrad education, I have experienced minimal academic difficulties. There were six instances during my undergrad education where I received a grade of B-minus or less. The first instance was during my freshman year at Hillsborough Community College where I received an F grade for intermediate algebra. Despite all of my effort to earn a passing grade from the course, all my efforts were futile. The overall average of the class was a D and the professor was dismiss from the college following that semester. I made up the grade by retaking the class with a different professor and complete the course with a B. The next situation involves me receiving two B-minus for organic chemistry lecture. Those organic chemistry courses were rigorous
Although it may appear that the American education system is a smooth, well-functioning machine that is preparing the minds of tomorrow with the tools they need to go out and succeed, it may actually be doing more harm than good. There are many problems that need to be addressed. The most crucial are that many schools are actually killing creativity, overworking and stressing out the students with no benefit, and a lack of funding to schools in poorer areas are leaving those students at a disadvantage. With today’s generation as well as future generations having to deal with these problems if things don’t change, how does that look for the countries future as a whole?
Africa is having a learning crisis that is not being resolved like it needs to be. In Africa there is 128 million school-aged children but 17 million of them don't even attend school, there is also 37 million children that do attend school, but they fail to learn from going. In America we force every child to be schooled at age 5-6, if parents cannot afford for their children to go the school the government makes exceptions and provides a way for the child to get schooling. While in America all children must go to school while in Africa there is a constant problem of not enough children attending school, schooling has been a crisis for many years and it should be widely available for all the children to learn information they will use in their
In America I have been told your education costs you millions. Here education is universal and state-funded by the government. We go through one year of kindergarten, four years of primary education, six years of secondary, and then on to university. Schooling is very important to us here because this is where we learn the great ideologies of collectivism and our all powerful leader. We are taught only to achieve the goals of the state, and learn almost nothing about the useless outside world. Our literacy and knowledge of the North Korean system is so high that knowing anything about any other civilization is not needed.
“Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today” (Malcolm X). Education is important because it provides one better opportunities to attain better jobs. Having knowledge can lead a person to greater places and help change the world. Education should not be spread amongst one race but allowed to anyone who is willing to prevail and benefit. Neither of my parents received a college degree and I will be the first child to go to college. African Americans are stereotypically identified as ignorant, lazy, violent, and senseless people. I want to prove that I am highly perseverative and intellectual, becoming more than what is expected of me. I have pushed myself throughout high school to make two points: that I am more than a statistic and exceed at everything they expect me not to do.
Each year approximately 1.05 million immigrants come into the United states. According to the Center for Immigration studies, there “are 10.9 million students from immigrant households in public schools, and they account for nearly 23 percent of all public school students”. Immigrants come to the United states for many reasons, religious freedom, the chance to start over, the ability to have a job, for health and happiness, education purposes, regardless the reason it is called the American Dream. The American Dream is what people dream America will be like. Whether it be fame and fortune, a happy and healthy family, or a good education and a well-paying job.
