Why Be A Pediatrician Nurse Practitioner

The career I would like to pursue would be Ultrasonography. Ultrasonography is a diagnostic medical procedure that uses high frequency sound waves to see images of a patients internal organs, tissues and blood flow. I first became interested in this field when I became pregnant with my first child. I thought that the ability to see images on the inside of a person's body was very intriguing. I've had many ultrasounds in my lifetime and my favorite were always the ones where I got to see the development of my baby. To be able to see a human being before it's even born is one of the most phenomenal things you could ever imagine. To be an sonographer would be a very rewarding career in so many ways. I would be able to help my patients who were hurt or injured, yet I would also be able to show expecting parents there

I would like to go into the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner career field. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners help Pediatricians and other Physicians diagnose and take care of children from infancy to young adults. I have grown up with ten siblings and many more cousins, so I have learned how to deal with children of all ages. Also, I have been interested in the medical field since I was a little girl and I have always loved to help people. I would have liked to be a Pediatrician but I would prefere not be in school for another thirteen years, so I found that the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner was the perfect career for me.

A pediatric nurse would be the career for me because I work well with children and I find that helping children makes me happy. Being a pediatric nurse has many duties and personal characteristics needed; such as working with children and getting along with them easily. Being a pediatric nurse also requires many years of studying and also many costs, but in the end the wages and benefits make up for it. The work setting and employment outlook are looking good for the upcoming years. Having a career as a pediatric nurse requires a lot of responsibilities and duties but I feel that because I am hard working and easily get along with children this would be the right career for me.

Nurse Practitioner is one of the fastest growing advanced practice nursing roles in Canada (Canadian Institute of Health Information, 2010). As a Registered Nurse with 14 years’ experience in various health care settings, I believe that the basic health care promotion activities should start from community. Improving primary health care availabilities can reduce the readmissions and long waits in ER departments, in turn decreasing the huge financial burden on hospitals. As a Nurse Practitioner, this gives me opportunity to advance my career through leadership and Research. I completed Bachelor of Nursing in 2003 and Master of Nursing in 2010.

My selected career would be an OB/GYN or something in the medical field. I am very interested in that career because it's inspiring how someone can have such a huge impact on people's lives. I became interested in being in the medical field at a very young age, and it is a huge goal of mine to stay true to my dream. From being at doctors offices and hospitals monthly and sometimes weekly when I was in elementary school, I am very used to being around doctors and medicine.

The career path I have chosen to take is in the medical field. My dream from a young age was always to be a nurse. A nurse is a healthcare professional who is focused on caring for people, and making sure that they manage, maintain, and recover patients to the finest state of health (What is Nursing, par.1). Nursing makes up a vast majority of the healthcare industry. There is a huge range of nursing specialties. Nurses work in General and surgical Hospitals, doctor’s offices, nursing care facilities, outpatient facilities, and home health services (Why Be a Nurse, par. 2). Nursing is an extremely flexible career, with one hundred and four specialties and a lot of advanced nursing degrees, so there is something for everyone in this field (Why Be a Nurse, par. 4). From those goals, I chose to be a pediatric nurse. It is hard to make a decision on which way should I major in but it is important to follow our heart when we have to make a decision on anything we do. I chose pediatric nurse because I know that pediatric nurse is what I wanted to be, what I love to do, and what makes me happy. I know how much important it is and how much beneficial for everyone. My dream career would be a Medical and Health Services Manager. This is my dream job because I love the things they do. Medical and Health Services Managers could manage a whole facility or just a small are filled with a couple people. I can adapt to new rules and technology regulations. Medical and Health Services Managers need to be punctual when working.

I believe i will be successful in becoming a Pediatric nurse because i have started my nursing training before I have even finished High school. West Sound Tech has offered me a full year of training to become a certified nursing assistant by taking their Professional Medical Career Class(PMC). In taking this class i have gained knowledge on the field i want to study and great 21sentury skills, like resumes, cover letters, preparing for an interview etc. i have always been a hard worker. In some cases i have to work twice or three times as hard as others. I am Dyslexic. I did not learn how to read until 3rd grade. In my future the career I would love to pursue is to be a surgeon. Surgeon overall save lives. Technically surgeons treat injures internal deformities and more through surgery. There are different types of surgeon that specialize in different area. Some surgeons specialize in hearts, brains, eyes, bones and more. A surgeon job is to repair and to save lives essentially. To be a Surgeon is to have a very unique career.

The career I would enjoy being would being a cardiothoracic surgeon. My aptitudes for the career include leadership skills and responsibility since most of my patients will trust me with their lives during the surgery there is no room for mistakes,disorganization , and immaturity.  I can also be humble, when delivery good or bad news to patients or their family and friends. Calm, straight forward, and attentive in a medical emergency. Honest to patients about their condition and or family member's condition, when committing a mistake, losing some important files from the office. The most important aptitudes for this job in my opinion are, being careful, respectful, and friendly. This shows the patients that the doctor actually cares and tries

If I could grow up and become anything I wanted to, I would become a cardiothoracic surgeon. I would become a cardiothoracic surgeon because I love to help people and make a difference in their life. Not to mention, some people in my family work in the medical business and from what I’ve heard so far, they enjoy making lives easier and happier. Plus, I’m 100% sure that I wouldn’t disappoint anyone because I strive to be the best. Also, being a surgeon would help the world in some way because I would be saving people that could change the world. An example of that is, if i were to save a firefighter, I would save him/her, so they can do their job and save others. The perfect career for me is physical therapy. I have always been interested in how and why the body works the way it does. Physical therapy is all about helping people gain a better quality of life and I know I can assist with that. Because I am already extremely inquisitive about the human body, I think it seems fit for me to learn more about it and use my knowledge and skills as a physical therapist. I used to think that the profession of a doctor was perfect for me, but I am more interested in how exercises and stretches can relieve pain or increase range of motion for people who need it most. I like to work one-on-one with people so I can get to know them on a personal level and individually fit their needs with what I can do for them.

My top career choice is a neurologist. I have chosen this career because not only is it financially rewarding, I can help people live a better life like I always dreamed of doing as a kid. I want to be the person to be recognized for saving lives. I know that this job would be a lot of hard work, but I think all my time would be worth it saving lives. The brain has always fascinated me since I was little, I was always eager to learn more, and discover more things. I realize that this would be a challenge, but it is a challenge I am up for!
