I first became interested in this field when I became pregnant with my first child. I thought that the ability to see images on the inside of a person's body was very intriguing. I've had many ultrasounds in my lifetime and my favorite were always the ones where I got to see the development of my baby. To be able to see a human being before it's even born is one of the most phenomenal things you could ever imagine. To be an sonographer would be a very rewarding career in so many ways. I would be able to help my patients who were hurt or injured, yet I would also be able to show expecting parents there

f I could pick any career it would be a Pediatrician Nurse Practitioner for an Oncologist. Growing up I wanted to be what every other kid wanted to be: doctor, lawyer, princess and the list goes on. As I got into High School I found myself interested in a lot of the medical classes. My freshman year I was in Introduction to Health Science which lead me to join HOSA. I fell in love with the thought of helping others. My junior year I was involved in a clinical rotation where one hour a day I would go to the hospital and sit in on surgeries, comfort patients, do coffee runs and anything else I could get my hands on. Now going into my senior year I am going to have an internship for a Pediatric Oncologist in Rockwall. This is going to help me

The career I have chosen to pursue in the future is a surgeon. A surgeon is a physician who performs surgical operations. They are who cut the human body for the purpose of removing diseased tissue or organs, to repair body systems, or to replace diseased organs with transplants. Surgeons may be physicians, dentists, podiatrists, and veterinarians. Surgeons can be general surgeons and perform all types of surgery, or they can be specialized, such as heart surgeons or brain surgeons. I plan to specialize in heart surgery or as its also known cardiothoracic surgeon. A cardiothoracic surgeon is a medical doctor who specializes in surgical procedures of the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest. This includes surgeons who can be called cardiac surgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, general thoracic surgeons, and congenital heart surgeons.
Their medical school is the leading medical school in the United States. I will need to earn an MD degree in order to apply for a General Practitioner.

On Tuesday, my assignment was in OR 11. In this room, cardiothoracic surgeries are performed. The surgery schedule was a segmentectomy of the lower lobe of the left lung. During this case I was able to put into practice different techniques learned in the labs, such as how to insert a Foley catheter. With the help of the circulator, I cleaned the perineal area and placed the catheter using sterile techniques. Since the surgery was performed on the left side, the patient was accommodated into a lateral positioning. The circulator nurse and I put sponges around the bony prominence to prevent skin breakdowns, and nerve and ligaments teardowns. Once the surgery started, the surgeon took different specimens from different parts of the left lower

Cardiothoracic Surgery is one of the most interesting and rewarding careers in the medical field. It was stated in Saving the Heart by Stephen Klaidman, “In the 1950s surgeons found ways to do quick repairs of congenital heart defects and faulty valves, and then the first heart-lung machine was invented, which made longer operations possible.” Since then, Cardiothoracic surgery has been constantly evolving to incorporate the new technological innovations. This job is described as engaging, challenging, interesting, and life changing. Day by day, the surgeries are getting easier to perform and the recovery time for patients is improving.
