When I was 7 years old, I became interested in art. I love to use my hand to make creative pieces of art, such as making jewelries by silk threads and pearl. My sister helps me to improve this skill by worn it. That was my first interested in art. After that I am still learning from my mother, the first thing is crocheting. I really enjoy doing it in my leisure time. The second thing I learned is how to sewing, my mother and I every Friday went to the fabric market to chose the high quality fabric.
I entered Art Education major to study after I graduated from the high school. I did not know that I have the full power about drawing. I surprised also that I got the skill and I have the ability to draw after two weeks. I learned how to use the
I decided that the lack of my ability to draw stemmed from the lack of practice. Gordon B. Hinckley,
It was my freshman year of high school when I took Drawing A; I quickly learned that I had a skill that I had previously ignored and began embracing it. Sophomore year, though, was when I truly started using my art. It was during this year that I received a 4 on my AP-Studio Art portfolio, and won four awards at Scholastic Art and Writing in photography. Art gave me a feeling of accomplishment that I didn’t usually get in the rest of my academics, so I always tried my
I am very interested in proactively dealing with people, and help those in need. In my experience, people are mysterious and are full of energy and resources, but the challenge is to unleash their potential with proper guidance and help. Most of the time, proper counseling is the most effective way.
studied various art mediums to explore creative talents. In my junior year, I decided to
As a child I enjoyed drawing several objects, and I felt that I had a rare gift to express life through art. I hope to reinvest my time back into my childhood hobby upon graduation later this year.
In current society there is a desire for improving standards of individuals' lives, but how to achieve such a progression comes into question. Some people believe that this stability comes through repetitive practice in one particular area; meanwhile, others, such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, think that improvement is found in trying new experiences. Although continually taking part in mastered experiences further builds previous skills in medical procedures, taking part in new experiences can insight self-improvement in physical activities and creative knowledge. In medical operations, mastered areas provide an increase in known skills. For surgeons, they can grow in their field by conducting repetitive surgeries. It is expected that these
As the only child, of my mother, I often faced the problem of not having someone to play with forcing more creativity. I often did various arts and crafts projects, but I found that I enjoyed drawing the most. With each drawing I become completely engrossed partially because it is a self-taught skill that requires focus, but also because I must be patient with myself as I work towards what I envision and learn new techniques. The Art of Drawing is a skill that I can continuously develop and perfect. The patience that my artwork teaches goes beyond the work itself. It demonstrates the importance of accepting my weaknesses and working towards bettering them. I am able to properly release the struggles I encounter and not be consumed because of my artwork. Creating my drawings is more than expression, but also self-discovery because I can be more honest with myself, embracing who I am and what I feel. However, from time to time I do encounter “artist block” and the exhibitions held at the museum of fine arts at Florida State University could provide inspiration much like my environment here at Spelman
The direction of my art-making has changed considerably since I started my BFA at NSCAD. My path until then had not exposed me to many of the possibilities within the arts and my practice was quite limited. Almost every single professor here has impacted how I think and see the world around me. I have been given tools for critical thinking and techniques to express my ideas. I have been repeatedly, and sometimes reluctantly, forced out of complacency and comfort and this has always led to growth.
Some interests I have are graphic design, photography, and fashion. I acquired these skills when I started a clothing brand, Crown Threads. This forced myself learn by reading books and going online. Crown Threads taught me to approach things such as marketing differently. This gave me a reason to use these skills daily. Furthermore, I wanted to apply what I taught myself in the real world. I found new jobs, a custom sock manufacturer and a wedding photography studio. The manufacturer exercised my knowledge of graphic design. The photography studio, I did album edits and shot weddings on the weekends.
Artists are often born with the innate ability to draw, but any adult can learn the skill. Becoming a master draftsman requires countless hours of hard work, immeasurable amounts of patience, an endless supply of perseverance, a burning passion for art, and dedication to self-expression. These traits are not easily accumulated but certainly attainable for anyone who is willing. Guidance from an instructor can facilitate the act of learning but, is not the only route artists have taken. They have accomplished the impossible, they have taught themselves the elements and principles of art through experimentation, abundant practice, and diligent effort.
For our article review I chose the article Creating Meaningful Art Experiences With Assistive Technology for Students with Physical, Visual, Severe, and Multiple disabilities. One of the authors is Mary Beth Coleman who is an assistant professor in the special education department at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. The other author is Elizabeth Stephanie Cramer who works as a clinical assistant professor and coordinator of art education at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. The article addresses the use of assistive technology in the art classroom and why it is necessary for students with disabilities. It is obvious upon reading the article that the authors thoroughly researched the subject which can be backed up by their references
A lot of people think that art can only go as far as a class in school, but in reality there is art around everyone. Art can be a way of life for some people, and for others it is simply just something they pass every single day. What they do not realize is that art can have benefits in different aspects in their life, in children's lives, and even the world around them.
My greatest skill is drawing. I’ve developed this skill by drawing when I have time and look some drawings from the internet to get inspired. I’ve demonstrated this skill by showing it to my family or posting it on the internet. I’ve always liked drawing since I was a kid because I always imagine things and I want to remember it. I used to draw Spongebob’s snail, Gary, a lot because I’ve seen a tutorial on how to draw Gary. And it inspired me, so I did it, and the outcome didn’t turn what I expect it to be. So, I tried it over and over again until I perfected it. Then, I tried drawing something else like cartoon characters, a person, etc. Until I get a hang of it, but I can’t do it without an image to copy from. As the time goes by, I am now
Art has inspired me immensely and it has influenced my life greatly. It has helped me with my struggles in life and has made my mind clearer. I’m going to pursue a career in Art because it is what I am most passionate about, illustration and design really spoke to me than any other major since you are learning about multiple areas in the art field rather than just focusing on one particular thing. I believe the Illinois Institute of Art(Schaumburg) will help me achieve my goals with the course selection they have for this major. I expect the school to help me attain more knowledge and skills about this field and to help me grow within myself and within my art. I will commit to my education by putting all of my time and effort into my work
A healthy and self beneficial activity is something that everyone wants to fill their down time with. Drawing can become a pastime that creates coordination and a visual way to express feelings and emotions that cannot be conveyed in mere words. It is a skill that can be practiced and honed to create something amazing and prove to be beneficial for aspiring artists. Having drawing literacy is a creative method of relieving stress or anxiety with many mediums to choose from and styles to draw in, it can open many doors and opportunities, and it can even provide revenue for artists which can be beneficial to many. Literacy is the knowledge, awareness in a certain field and of all the countless types of literacy known throughout the world in the 21st century and in America, drawing should be more prominent in the world.
