Art has inspired me immensely and it has influenced my life greatly. It has helped me with my struggles in life and has made my mind clearer. I’m going to pursue a career in Art because it is what I am most passionate about, illustration and design really spoke to me than any other major since you are learning about multiple areas in the art field rather than just focusing on one particular thing. I expect the school to help me attain more knowledge and skills about this field and to help me grow within myself and within my art. I will commit to my education by putting all of my time and effort into my work
As a developing and growing student, I realize that I need a plan for success, even though that plan may change. At Indiana University Bloomington, I plan to study in the School of Art and Design in order to eventually become an interior designer. While I may change my career choice and area of study, my drive and dedication to achieve excellence will never waver. However, that does not mean that I will not face challenges along the way.

The Art Institute is a great place to learn all those skills and many more, giving me everything I need to have a successful business. In order to be successful I must have two things, determination and persistence. Without those things I will fall short of my goals.

Art reflects what is important at a particular time to a particular culture and/or to a particular artist. For example, in Ancient Egypt, the Egyptians focused on status. Much of Egyptian art is very symbolic and dedicated to the Kings and Queens and the people of high economic stature. The Egyptians also liked to make art showing their beliefs, such as Gods and Goddesses. Color played a big part in Egyptian art. The color of the skin was usually a brighter color, this indicated what social class they were from. The darker colors represented royalty or someone that is godlike.

Analyzing art can be a necessity to every day life. It has importance beyond what people may think possible and can transform the way you interpret situations. The skills acquired from it are applicable to every day jobs such as: doctors, crime scene investigators, police officers, and any other jobs that require attention to minor details. Creating personal art helps to express to others your point of view or perspective. By creating a personal art piece I was able to reflect on myself and illustrate how I view myself to share with other. I started my selecting a picture that I thought would help to portray a message. I also thought about the images that I would draw to really depict my character. When I was selecting my photo I tried to pick one that represented something. I chose a picture that was taken from behind me. To me this picture represents seeing things from my point of view. When you stand behind a person and glance over their shoulder you are essentially seeing the same things that they are. For the pictures that I chose I had to really think and consider what
In my thoughts, convoluted upon this page, I reside these ideas of whether I should pick a university and/or an art academy, and whether I will find the better one through my own investigation. When starting the investigation I looked no further than my Graphic design teacher Ms. Fitchhorn, who helped me answer a couple of questions while also detailing me her experience, this gave me the right background to look into UC Davis. On the other hand, I found out information and did a virtual tour of San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI), all of which intrigued me. While I feel that I liked the sound and the idea of a UC more than an academy through learning things that Fitchhorn said, though I’ve found interesting information from SFAI, and have found that both sources have their positives and negatives.
In all areas of art, be it music, fashion, painting, sculpture or architecture, are influenced by the changing times. In one manner or another, art is ultimately controlled either by the people or for the people. Influences by way of religion and politics, coupled with a desire to support or object, seem to be a reoccurring theme among many eras. Additionally, as with all things, who the financially stronger were at the time had a major influence over what the artists would be expected to create. In the past, many times it was the church that had the greatest say in the overall acceptance of art, resulting in decades of works created with a spiritual connotation. At times, this was a blatantly religious messages, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s
Art education has been proven to help with “cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skills” as well as “motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork” (Smith). Having the ability and patience to sit down and paint a masterpiece or work through a song on the piano requires high focus and dedication. Students willing to do this will in turn have stronger skills to focus and be dedicated in other subjects. The mixture of all these abilities gained from participation in art programs lead to higher test scores and overall better performance in school. Still, these are only a few of the assets provided by art education.
The big debate in someone’s head when they are a senior in highschool and are getting ready to graduate is if they are planning to attend college, then what college to attend is the big question. For students that want to pursue art in college, then the big question is if art school is the way to go or “traditional” college with just a major in some medium of art. I believe that if anyone wants to be an artist or wants to do something in the art field, that they would benefit more from an art school than a school whose sole purpose is not to prepare students with access into the art world because of their high quantity of like minded students, and it provides students with more time to focus directly on artwork. Though it does generally cost more than a traditional university or college.
