Read this poem to find out where I stand on different issues.
I am independent. It is extremely difficult for me to give control to other people. I am the type of person to be quiet in class but loud around my family and friends. I am originally from Minnesota. I am counting down the days till I graduate from McIntosh. I am ready for a new adventure wherever it may take me.
I like traveling. I will travel to just about anywhere as long as it gets me out my hometown. I want to explore everything that the world has to offer from the diverse food to unique architecture. I like New York City. I would be a dream of mine to live there. I like listening to music, especially when I am driving by myself. I like desserts or anything sweet. There is

I am tired of the heat and humidity and cannot wait until winter. I am tired of my computer which I am typing this on. It crashed multiple times while writing this essay. I am still tired from junior year.
I do not care for spicy food. I do not care for Monday's especially quizzes or tests on Monday. I do not care for a messy room or binder. I do not care for camping or the countryside. I need to be at least five minutes from a Target or WalMart and if I am not, then I am too far in away. I do not care for grades. While I understand, there needs to be a system to motivate students to succeed. If we taught kids from a young age to always strive to always want to learn more than we would not need grades in the first place. I do not care for people who drive trucks, but do not know how to park them.
I am in favor of helping people who may be struggling with a situation. I am in favor of getting a free period during our school day so we have more time to study and work on homework. I am in favor of putting an ice cream machine in the senior cafeteria. I am in favor of everybody finding something or someone in life that makes them passionate and excited to wake up in morning. I am in favor of believing that I will make it through this school year in one piece and this is where I
As a student, I am often troubled by the rigid routines of the school day, despite the fact that I am actually a very habitual person. The constant ringing of bells, lectures, bellwork, classwork, homework, each a daily practice throughout the school year. Although all of these components promote conformity, which will ultimately support the balance of school and societal norms, they also tend to threaten each student’s own unique characteristics. This then poses the question; to what degree should schools encourage conformity versus individuality? Certainly, a level of conformity is required to achieve a balanced society however, the overall structure of the school day and class, including the methods used to teach and mandatory classes,
I love to play video games and sports like volleyball, basketball, football, and hockey. I also love to go on trips, go sightseeing and going to fun places like amusement parks.
I love adventuring and traveling, as well as meeting new people and trying new foods. I was fortunate enough to be born into a military family, so we move and travel constantly. I've lived in Korea, Germany, Louisiana, and New Mexico, however I have spent the majority of my life in Italy. (I also have a very Italian grandma who talks with her hands and loves cooking almost as much as she loves the pope). It's taken some getting used to being back in the states (the lifestyle, for one, and the fact I can't
I enjoy playing Lacrosse, anything law related and food. My favorite cities in the U.S. include Chicago, Atlanta, Savannah, and New York.
Education and school. Some of you are now grimacing at the prospect of being trapped inside a classroom. Others are now thinking what I wouldn’t do to be able to go back and start all over again. Now don’t worry, I’m not going to convince you that you should love school. My job isn’t to change your perspective on school like a politician would do.
When i go to puerto Rico. The things I would like to do is to go to the beach and rainforest. I would like to try the delicious foods.
I take pride in all that I do and I have always tried my best to represent West Stanly well. I am in the top 15 of my graduating class with a 4.46 GPA that I worked for each and every year that I have been at West Stanly. I have taken my sports achievements to higher levels, competing in the state playoffs for basketball and volleyball, and going to regionals for track. I am now using my academic achievements to tutoring during my free periods at West Stanly Middle School. I not only teach these students, but I also mentor them. I am an example of what hard work and dedication will help them achieve in their future. I plan to further my education in the fall at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I will major in Psychology with hopes to pursue a career as a Pediatric Psychiatrist. I hope that I can take my academic achievements in high school and college, and give it all back to my community. If I could think of the best word to describe me, Kiley Harless, I would have to say a proud West Stanly
I live on a beautiful island in the Caribbean with pristine white beaches and turquoise waters. People save their pennies and their vacation days for a chance to visit where I call home now. Moving from a vibrant city filled with young professionals and happy hours galore. Always something to do, somewhere to be, someone to meet and full with many opportunities.
hroughout a person’s years of schooling across the Illinois public school system, they will have met a large share of characters that really push their buttons. There is just some classmates they will come across and wonder, “What is wrong with you?”. Then they will continue on their way, wondering when the next imbecile will pass them by. Nevertheless, the three most annoying types of students are the hallway cloggers, the questioners, and the supply thieves.
First of all, I am an independent person. An independent person is someone that is not anchored by another individual, place, or item. One aspect in my life that I reveal my independence is everyday starting when I wake up in the morning. Every morning I wake up naturally without an alarm clock. My body is my alarm clock and I don't need an object or another person to wake me up. After I wake myself up I will make my own lunch. During the warmer seasons I grown my own fruits and veggies to pack in my lunch. These foods include tomatoes, strawberries, green beans, peppers, onions, and potatoes. One year I attempted to grow my own blueberries but the deer ate my crops. Before school started I went
I like to start my day with a cup of coffee and enjoy my tea before dinner, I like both red and white wine, depending on the season. My favorite spots are Aquariums, cinema, parks etc.. I can sleep on both sides and enjoy cuddling, I am affectionate, I like to hug and kiss a lot :), I enjoy dinning out in a nice restaurant with soft music on the background, my favorite music is soft rock but I can still enjoy all kinds of music. I am a huge European football fan and I have been supporting a club called Manchester united all my life, I played a lot of football growing up. I only started watching football when I came to the U.S.A. I love travelling and someday I will like to retire and travel round the world with the company of my
“ What's the point of going to class, I don't have a teacher anyways?” Students have been walking around saying this and it upsets me. How can you be so ready to start a new fresh year with a clean slate but come to school and end up not having a teacher. That is a huge waste of the students time and a waste of education they should be getting.teachers are parents and have kids of their own. we can't blame anyone for not becoming a teacher at such schools. they need to support themselves and even family. if so much work is being given by teachers they expect to be rewarded something nice in
As both the standards of school work and stress levels of student’s rise, the American school system remains unaltered, unchanged, and unaffected for over a hundred years. School is an institution that can serve as a massive gate in life granting you access to a job, stability, and a future or it can become a giant pillar in the way of everything you wish to achieve. While we recognize that a student’s own motivation, study habits, and will to learn, are cardinal in any schooling system, we must also understand the issues with an institution that is fundamentally unsound from the ground up. In today’s world, students are shoved with the hands of docility, and amenability as they render themselves in a system that has inadvertently failed them, by neglecting to celebrate their differences, and varying learning patterns. Conformity in the education system has shown to damage the personalization and
I’ve always considered myself independent. Maybe it was because of how I was raised or the fact that I moved to a different state with different people every four years that shaped my personality into being this way. Of all the factors that came into play when I was growing up, the most influential cause of my early independence has got to be my constant and hectic schedule of dance practices and rehearsals.
I am incredibly independent, whether it be trying new things- I took a stand-up paddle boarding course despite my complete lack of experience- or travelling the world. After my internship in South Korea this past summer, I have caught the travel bug and will be studying abroad in Rwanda during spring 2017. Two weeks later, I will be interning in Sicily until two days prior to the beginning of fall semester. Although I do not know another soul in these programs, I am confident in my ability to make friends and be self-reliant in new
