Do you remember when your mom told you that videogames are bad for you ? Your mom was wrong. There have been studies to tell that videogames have impacted people’s lives and made their brain and body better like call of duty can help you eyes. Videogames are good for people because they have helped eyesight. It also keeps people young and fit , they have also proved that videogames can make you a better driver. They proved at a university that first person shooters can give you better vision. To begin with people at the university of Rochester had a study that videogames can give people superior eyesight. Many kids and adults have some kind of video game whether it be on the computer, phone, or a game console. So many people think video games are bad for you, your health, and your mind but have no hard evidence to prove it. Here is some hard evidence proving them wrong. Studies have shown that video games, especially shooting or violent video games, improve your eyesight. There is no hard evidence that links violent video games to causing violent crimes. Some people believe the reason that teenagers kill and commit crimes are because of violent video games, but that is not why. It's usually something emotional going on in their life like stress, or something much worse. People believe that video games are bad for us when they really aren't because the tests have shown us just that.
It gives the children a common place to socialize, over 60% said they play to hang out with friends and nearly a quarter said they play with friends online. Joseph Kahne, dean of the education school at Mills College in California, stated that even games like Halo give plenty of opportunities to help each other. Kahne also mentions that gamers were just as likely, if not more so, to participate in civic activities like charities or politics and was supported by the findings from the Pew survey (Irvine). So are video games as bad as they seem or are there some good to them as well? There have been many reports and researches done on both sides of the fence.
There's a lot of people in the world that think videogames are bad for your health. Video games could actually help you get smarter or help you improve your eyesight. That is why I will be telling you about why videogames are good for health or help make your mind grow.
“I'm sure you've heard negative things about video games, our various studies show they are false.” This is a claim from the article, “5 Facts Prove That Video Games Are Good For Your Children” written by Stacie Simpson. A lot of people think videogames are bad for you, they say stuff like “video games make you lazy.” or “video games rot your brain.” this is only partially true. Video games are good for you and/or your children because they help with stress, decision making and, hand-eye coordination.
“A new wave of research has found surprising advantages in an activity that many call a waste of time, if not an outright menace”(Paragraph 5). Some video games can be very helpful like math games and grammar games. Video games are considered a waste of time, but it can be very helpful in education and in many other ways. “Scientists have recently linked gaming with increased brain power, making better moral decisions and even physical fitness”(Paragraph 6) Video games are being proven to help people make better choices. On the other hand, they also have been linked with fitness and strength. This said, video games are improving daily life and
Video games are “a waste of time” they don 't actually improve anything, they are just entertainment. However there is drastic evidence to show that couldn’t be further from the truth. They actually have a huge mental benefit that can enhance memory, better hand to eye coordination and enhanced reflexes along with other things aswell. Showing that they are indeed not just a time killer and waster but are hugely benefiting the minds of the people that play them. The first point I would like to bring up is enhanced memory, a study suggests that young children can benefit from the memory aspects of video games. Several children had multiple sessions of several video games with increases challenge and it had been noted that they did show signs of progress in the difficulty but more importantly an increase in a strong memory showing that the two indeed have a connection. Secondly hand to eye coordination, another study was conducted and yet again the gamer who repeatedly played games was faster, sharper and overall better than the non-gamer. The other main point is reflexes which sort of ties in with the other points but deserves another mention, research indicates that fast-paced gameplay along the lines of Call of Duty and other various games, does in fact increase reflexes.
Video games should be considered good for people. This is an important topic because there is lots of disagreement about it. Some of the basics are that they can increase brain functionality, help people feel achieved, and put money into the economy.
People often mistake video games to only be bad for your health, but what if they all weren’t? While playing video games, there is an improvement found in the brain’s many regions (Pellissier). Playing video games isn’t completely bad for you, and can actually help the brain. Actually, video games can be beneficial to the human brain and even to the point of life changing ways. Games can change your lifestyle by changing the way the brain processes information, affecting the brain's functionality, giving an addiction to playing video games, and affecting the brain academically, which gives people the choice of whether or not play video games.
video games can be beneficial. Whether it helps your brain, stress, aging, or help dyslexic kids.
First of all, the effects of the video game on a person depends on what type of game it is. Some of the most popular games are Call of Duty, and GTA 5. According to npr.org, “ People who played action video games that involve first-person shooters, such as Call of Duty and Medal of Honor, experienced shrinkage in a brain region called the hippocampus, according to a study published Tuesday in Molecular Psychiatry.” (Columbus) Even if it has a negative effect, it also has positive outcomes. Games are also rated by a
When playing video games, the coordination and concentration can physically, socially, and mentally benefit the user. Independent experts questioned the findings and said that even if the changes were real there was no reason to believe that video games could harm your health. Other experts argue with this article and say that there is no real proof that video games can do bad thing to your brain. I think that the reason for people making articles that say video games are bad for you is to get people to stop playing
Video games should not be classified as “bad” and if someone classifies them that way then hopefully they have some kind of different outlook after reading this. Where video games get this negative outlook is from the inglorious bastard genre of the “action” or first person shooter, when in reality, that’s one genre of 10’s if not 100’s of others that are established. Video games do in fact have beneficial attributes even though people think of them as addictive brainwashing mechanisms, and there are means to make video games a learning technique. Six experts on video games collaborated, and this is what they had to say.
If you ask a person in any environment if video games in general provide something beneficial for the player, they will answer there isn’t any. If anything, they will comment video games encourage negative outcomes, such as obesity, aggressiveness, antisocial behavior and in extreme cases, addiction (Bavelier, "Brain training: Games to do you good", 2013). Besides the fact that there is no correlational proof that video games encourage violent behavior, psychologists have proved that some good does come out of playing games. Video games, it seems, encourage positive brain plasticity.
The debate has started ever since there were tests when the first console has been released to take home and play in the living room. Ever since then scientists study them to find out if video games are bad for a person’s health, and if playing them for an excessive amount of time has a change in one’s health. The tests that researchers study will inform people about gaming and how it changes their health, but there will still be millions of people playing video games. There are many people who love to play and even play video games for a living, but there are many people who disagree with video games. Many of the people who disagree with video games are mainly parents who see their kids playing them, but there are more than just parents who do not like them. There are many other disagreements about video games that people think harm someone’s health and relationships. I think video games can be good for people and that they can even relieve stress to a point, but anyone playing video games needs to know when to take a break or stop playing.
