This happen on multiple occasions so I think we will have to work on a better way of ensuring that patients are notified and clearly understand the new appointment date and time. Time management is also an important piece of the daily task. I would suggest that Denika set daily goals of what she would like to accomplished for the day and try to get them done. An area that a lot of time is loss is the amount of interruptions and time away from the desk; reducing some of the time can also help to reduce the overtime. Since overtime is not factored in the budget this is an area to pay some attention to. While overtime will not be totally eliminated I think that better time management can reduce some of it. Within the case, The Carbondale Clinic, it is apparent that a scheduling problem exists which has then resulted in patients being unsatisfied with the amount of time they must wait to be seen for his or her scheduled appointment with the physician. It is also evident that physicians prefer to have a full schedule without taking into consideration the possibility of emergencies that may arise throughout the day that will contribute to patients having to wait even longer. It is pertinent that the manager sits down with the staff to determine what is the most logical solution to help resolve the scheduling problem, taking into consideration what the physicians want along with ensuring patient satisfaction.
In healthcare, error-free scheduling is vital when it comes to providing the right needed staffing ratio in order to better deliver care to the patient. At Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) in Plattsburgh, N.Y., managers in the past used manual paper-based time consuming staff scheduling techniques that always had errors and was not consisting to the needed staffing ratio (Larson & Kowalowski, Jan 31, 2013). By leadership and staff agreeing that the old process was ineffective, and a new scheduling process was needed, through change management, CVPH adopted the Avantas automated, centralized staff scheduling software in an effort of transforming their culture as a high reliability organization (Larson & Kowalowski, Jan 31, 2013). Through the transition, CVPH now uses Avantas to do real-time scheduling that is more quickly and accurate in fulfilling staffing when needed while meeting the FTE requirements (Larson & Kowalowski, Jan 31, 2013). Through this culture change in providing better staffing ratios in an effort to achieve a high reliability organization, it now allows CVPH medical staff spending more time with the patient while providing quality of care with better medical outcome (Mensik, October 2015). Also, by using only one centralized scheduling process, it not only changed the culture of how care is delivered at CVPH, but it bought effectiveness to staff scheduling through cutting costs while determining accurate
All staff meets briefly to make everyone aware of how many patients are booked; how many appointments are confirmed; and how many appointments are available. Staff is also informed of who will be out, who will be late, and what things need to be done if time permits, so that priorities for the day may be established.” (Schuman, August 2015)
07/30/15: Anita came into the office for our scheduled visit today. I checked in with Anita to how her vacation went and how she’s been feeling. Anita stated her vacation went well and that she did lots of walking while she was away. Since returning home Anita has been implementing small periods of physical activity into her daily routine; she stated that it makes her body feel much better. I encouraged her keep up the good work and to continue working towards her IFPA goal. I followed up with her to see if she received the results of her glucose test; she stated that she had received the results and that her glucose levels were within normal range. Anita has been apprehensive about her primary care physician and she wanted assistance contacting
In the report 'No-Vacation Nation Revisited' written by Rebecca Ray, Milla Sanes, and John Schmitt (2013), the authors present Figure 2 that shows the most recently accessible data from a range of national and international sources whether paid vacations and paid holidays required or not in 21 well-developed countries. Countries are located on Figure 2, from left to right depending on their generosity.
Incorporate designated provider work time throughout the day to allow for phone calls, documentation and to review test results. This helps out the rest of the staff as well by
The United States is commonly known as “No-Vacation Nation” (Thompson, 2012) because Americans typically prioritize work over studies and family. (1)Although people in America take fewer vacations than any nation in the world, socioeconomics may be a reason for why employees focus more on work than research and relationships in the American culture. "There is simply no evidence that working people to death gives you a competitive advantage" (Pawlowski, 2011). (2)As a citizen of the United States and one who has often fallen prey to these ideals, the trend to overwork has been an affliction to overcome. Family and scholarly efforts have been sacrificed, but over the past year or two, I have made a conscious effort to alter my “live to work”
I successfully manage all timekeeping for my staff, as well as ensuring they have a clear understanding of the Institution and Access Operations expectations for time and attendance. I have created a new patient access checklist to assist with orientation of new team members within the center. To enhance our patients’ experience monthly call monitoring is performed and feedback is given to staff. In identifying customer service areas needed for improvement, staff has been successful with improving contacting patients within four hours, reduce the call abandonment rate, and increase the number of patients given same day/next day appointments. My plan for the upcoming year is to become a better leader by focusing on being better organized and prepared, improve on meeting deadlines and communication. To enhance the collaborative partnership with clinical teams and ensure the ongoing success of Ambulatory Access Operations. I will continue to handle changes and support my staff and

For week 34 AVP1 billed 1222.5 hours. Hours covered were 1214.5, we were short 1.5 hour on covered hours because we had an Officer by the name of Andrew Zajac leave early due the fact that he irritated preexisting medical condition. The other 8 hours that caused the variance was from an incumbent, Judy Peffer, who’s hours are consider billable because she has been working at the site since 7/14/2009. You will also see that for week 35, G4S will bill another 32 hrs of billable vacation time. I just wanted to bring this to your attention so you are aware of the variance.
Ancient Egyptians were a very advanced and thriving civilisation based along the banks of the Nile River. Developing a writing system called hieroglyphs, that combined pictures and symbols which later turned to be an alphabet is proof of their intelligence in becoming an advanced civilisation. The Nile River attracted animal life such as birds and fish. Although Egypt was very innovative and creative they would not have survived without the Nile River. Without it, ancient Egypt would have never existed and would just be a piece of deserted
I have had a lot of experience with time management and have become very experienced. I am continuously looking for ways to reduce time and costs whilst not taking short-cuts and providing the best quality of care for my patient’s to ensure a safe and calm work environment.

The only sound that filled my ears was my keyboard clicking as my fingers raced across it. I had been procrastinating from finishing this assignment all evening, but I knew I needed to get it done. The burning sunset was shining through the windows as I was finishing up. It was a peaceful silence, until I heard the soft whispers of my parents that ignited my sense of curiosity. I was concentrating hard; doing my best trying to make out the hushed words that were being spoken.
According to the dictionary, colonialism may be defined as the policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupy it settlers, and exploit it economically. Colonialism between the 1870s and 1900s had a massive impact on African communities. Therefore, I am studying effect of colonialism because I want to find out its impacts in order to understand the transformation it brought to the African continent based on our readings, films and class discussions. As present, the African continent continue to face serious economic, social and military challenges, even after attaining their political independence from European colonists.
