The only sound that filled my ears was my keyboard clicking as my fingers raced across it. I had been procrastinating from finishing this assignment all evening, but I knew I needed to get it done. The burning sunset was shining through the windows as I was finishing up. It was a peaceful silence, until I heard the soft whispers of my parents that ignited my sense of curiosity. I was concentrating hard; doing my best trying to make out the hushed words that were being spoken.
“Let’s just tell her.”
“You really want to?”
“Yes!”
“Oka-”
“BRINLEY!”
I walked into the dining room to find my smiling parents. My mom was hiding her phone against her shirt, evidently not want me to catch a glimpse of her screen. I asked what was going on, and the

14 ½ hours later, we were greeted by the Destin, Florida sign. My level of happiness was indescribable.
*Time skip: 1 day later*
My parents and I happily trudged out of our chilled condo room, weighed down by various beach supplies. We made our way to the elevator, slowly but surely exiting the maze we call our condo hallways. As we glided down, floor after floor, we finally reached the parking garage. We stepped out of the elevator feeling a mix of humidity and heat immediately cling to our tan bodies. We exited the garage to find a beautiful scene. Birds were flying overhead as there were sun rays beating down against white, hot sand. We crossed the bridge that held shoes and scattered shells. After we did so, we pressed our feet against the white sand that belonged to Destin, Florida. The sight was even more alluring than I had ever imagined.
The sound of the emerald green ocean water crashing against the shores filled my ears. Children ran along the shore, smiling from ear to ear while laughing amongst each other clearly enjoying their day. Some people were searching contently for sea shells, that were visible for miles. I looked out at the ocean, it stretched out far into the horizon; as far as my eyes could see. There were jetty’s that were perfectly placed within the ocean. I could smell the salt radiating off of the water. I had been waiting for this moment for a long time; I dashed into the ocean I’d been waiting for for the past
I had just gotten out of the shower and started getting ready to go out to dinner, when I noticed a slight change in my mom's mood. She was ironing clothes when she frantically started receiving text messages and scrolling through her phone. I wasn't sure what was wrong, I didn't even put much thought to it. I finished
When I first stepped out of the hot, stuffy plane into the bright and brilliant sunlight beaming down on my face, all I felt was excitement. With my bag in one hand and sunglasses in the other I couldn’t believe it I finally arrived at Florida! The Florida sun struck like an arrow on my skin, warming and basking my arms in its radiance. I took a deep breath and smelt a sweet flowery perfume. After pushing my way through all the tourists I finally reached my luggage. After pulling my purple bag of the conveyer belt, I made my way to the doors where my family and I were met by my aunt, uncle, and cousins to pick us up and take us back to their house.

I stood there in amazement watching the ceaseless waves lap at the shore. The water shocked me with its beauty, the deep blue hues and white crests were a picture of paradise. I dropped my towel, sat on it and gazed out onto the incredible expanse of water. Being at the ocean in person is a totally different experience than looking at a picture or video. I sat there as my sisters ran out into the waves, at that moment I formally realized where I was. The overwhelming size of the glorious ocean made me feel very small. Thinking about Aurora, Indiana and what I had around me made me want to never return home. The oceans size, and being so far away from home shattered my inner world and rebuilt it into a more accurate size. For the longest time I thought that I would graduate high school go to a local college and have a job in the town I grew up in. I realized I was living at home with no thought whatsoever as to where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do with my life. My trip to the Gulf of Mexico made me realize that life is full of unknown possibilities, and I had an entire world that I needed to experience. Just going to Alabama had shown me the diversity of a different place. I realized there were other types of people out there, not just “farm boys” wearing boots and spitting dip
The sand was as white as whipping cream, sleek and fluffy. The endless ocean and the sky were matching perfectly along the line faraway. Although no tough rocks to dodge, shells and crabs dissolved into the sand and were absolutely spotless, the pricks of sticks poked my feet. My footsteps marked the sand like a tattoo. While the flowing breeze of the salty gust of wind soothed our skin like if I was sleeping continuously in my cozy bed, and blowing the silky sand like feathers blowing in the clearing. The clouds were like mushy vanilla soufflé which relaxed in the wild blue soda sky. The tree’s spirited green dynamically making people peaceful. Personally, it was a pleasant place to take a nap. A drizzle of saltwater ran down my cheek, fish swarming in the sea looking for a cool water. Blazing fire roasting my skin as if I was trapped in a steaming sauna. Beach huts lined up perfectly along the bridge, assuming that the inside was splendidly air conditioned.
It was a beautiful day to try something new at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California. It was a long year in fourth grade, and my family and I were excited to start our summer vacation. As we pulled our trailer on the southbound I-5 freeway towards San Diego, I could see the temperature gauge on my father’s truck slowly dropping to the mid 70’s. We were in a packed car with my father, mother, older brother, younger sister, snacks and drinks everywhere, and me, entranced by the game on my brand new iPod that I recently received on my birthday. I had gone on camping trips my whole life so I was thrilled to go to a new beach and campground, but I was bewildered when we pulled into a Costco parking lot. I asked my father, “Why are we at
After you choose your destination the next thing you must do is reserve your airfare and hotel. This may be tough because there are many websites and travel agents that you can go through. I have found that it is cheaper and easier to go through Expedia.com. You can book your hotel and flight all together and pay one low price. I have also found that flying with Southwest Airlines is very cheap and they have many one way stops all across the country and for a cheap hotel that is very nice I recommend the Extended Stay America.
The vacation all started on August 22, 2016, with my family driving all the way to the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas. The airport greeted us with its huge, orange, and gray structure, as it swarmed with numerous people and their luggage. After waiting for our tickets, we arrived at our scheduled plane. The plane contained a Spirit logo with yellow, black, and white colors. After ten minutes of settling down, our massive flight took towards the luminous sky. Throughout the journey, the sky glowed like a large, orange lantern. I became amazed at the sky's beauty, as the Sun's rays kissed the humongous clouds. Once we landed in Orlando, the city sparkled with its large buildings and palm trees. The weather wrapped me and my family with a warm hug. After renting a car, we drove throughout the International Drive, a popular spot of Orlando, and saw incredible sights: the entrance of Universal Orlando, the entrance of Sea World, and billboards that came to life. After the sights, I felt that Orlando and I would make a beautiful friendship.
It was April break and my family and I were heading down to Florida for the week. When our flight landed in Miami it was late. We went to a place called the Wynwood Walls, this place is a few blocks of street art that are just amazing. The coolest piece there was a big whale with a whole society inside of it. It was late afternoon when we got back to the hotel for dinner. I got a fish sandwich, it was great! After our dinner the sun was starting to set. My family and I walked out onto the beach and the water was sparkling in the evening sun with a ocean breeze coming over the ocean. Our hotel was great, the beds were extremely comfortable and we had a ocean view with the beach right in front of us!
We landed in Mexico around 12 pm and got to the resort around 12:10. The drive probably should’ve been 30 minutes, but the driver was hitting 80 mph because well, it’s Cancun. That was the start of my vacation but there’s a lot more, than just that.
I will forever be tied there. Everything about it - the food, the air, the smell, the sights - was wonderful! It all started when my great grandpa Forst died and left my mom money. He loved to travel, so my mom knew that we should use the money for travel. A couple of years later my parents said,
7/23/2018: Leave Kansas City Intl. (MCI) at 4:25 PM (ticket price for round trip: $2,000)
“Hey dad, can we go to Hawaii? My friends were talking about how amazing it is and I really want to go.” The only thing my ten year old self desired was a tropical trip to Hawaii. Then suddenly we were packing and readying ourselves to go to Hawaii.
My family likes to take a vacation at least once a year to a different place we’ve never been before. We’ve gone to places like Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. One of the things that makes it possible to do this every year is that we drive to our destination. This past year we didn’t know where we wanted to go we were struggling to find somewhere we would all be happy. At this time it was the middle of the winter and I was itching to go fishing and I knew that this trip would be around spring break so I wanted to go to a well known fishing area and start the season off right. I had always wanted to go to the Lake of the Ozarks because I knew that the fishing there was good and it was in driving distance so I suggested it and my family
I was more than ready to enter Watiki Indoor Water Resort in Rapid City, South Dakota on July 26, 2016 I set a towel down on the beach chair. I was so excited to make the third day of vacation GREAT!!!!
